A Bunch of Rubbish Under the Wiyoto Wiyono Toll Road

Few weeks ago, public are wondering about a news that reports a bunch of rubbish under Wiyoto Wiyono toll road. The Chief of Living Environment of District Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta Basrudin confirms that the news is true.

“We knew after this news is viral and we take an action then to clean it up,” he said.

Basrudin estimates, a bunch of rubbish were there for 25 years long or right after the toll road construction were completed on late 1993. Basrudin says the team will clean the rubbish regularly. As the result, 470 tons of rubbish success to clean in the 600 meters lenght under the toll road  in a week.

“Until yesterday, we’re successfully to clean up 470 tons by 35 motor carts,” he explained.

Beside clean it up, Basrudin and team also socialize the citizen around the toll road to stop throwing the rubbish in to the toll road and not to live under the toll road.

PT Citra Marga Nusaphala Persada (SMNP) as toll operator says they have been built the barrier wall to prevent the citizen build a house or throw any rubbish, but then citizen breaks it down.

“Yes, it was there, but then people breaks it down,” said someone who lived around the toll road.

Sutrisno, as the representative of the toll operator says CMNP will build again the barrier wall and socialize the citizen who live under the toll road to move out.
