Jakarta - The implementation of odd-even numbering system in the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll  in related to reduce the congestion impact  of Jakarta-Cikampek Elevated construction will be implemented next week (Monday, March 12, 2018). This program regulates three rules that believed to reduce the density on the toll

The three rules are including, the odd-even number system, the use of the special public transport Lane (LKAU) as well as the operational hours for class III, IV and V for freight transport. The Minister of Transportation, Budi Karya Sumadi said that the implementation of these three rules is in Tol gate (GT) Bekasi Barat and Bekasi Timur as well.

The potential to reduce congestion is enormous, because these 3 policies we run simultaneously. We expect 30% - 40% of the congestion is reduced, "said Minister Budi.

Budi also said that the government has prepared a “Transjabodetabek” Premium bus to transport passengers who can not use cars with police license number  in accordance with the enacted policies.

"It began on March 12, 2018. Buses provided to accommodate those who are not enough in private cars can move to the bus," explained Minister Budi.

The bus that becomes alternative mode will operate in two places, namely in Mega City West Bekasi and Grand Dhika Bekasi Timur with several destinations in Jakarta, such as Plaza Senayan, Kuningan, Podomoro City, Block M, and Thamrin City.

During the implementation, the Head of the Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas) Police, Inspector General Royke Lumowa said the police would guard this policy. Inspector General Royke said that he will place officer in toll gate, and in every front of the toll gate will be provided a U-turn or reverse space for vehicles whose license plate is not in accordance with the odd-even rule.

"We will be guarded by personnel placement in each toll gate. There are 85 officers and take precautions when there is a violation, "said Irjen Royke.

This odd- even exchange implementation system will be valid on every Monday to Friday at 06.00-09.00 WIB, excluding holidays. As well as for the application of operational time limits for freight vehicles class III, IV, and V are imposed banning crossing every Monday to Friday at 06.00-09.00 WIB, except holidays.
