Twelve Carriages of MRT Jakarta Ready in Lebak Bulus

Jakarta – Two train series of Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Jakarta that consist of 12 carriages each have been moved from Tanjung Priok Harbour to the Dipo at Lebak Bulus Station on Thursday. The train with 20 meters dimensions, 2,9 meters width and 3,9 meter height are imported from Japan.

DKI Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan comes to check MRT Jakarta. He says that the construction progress of the MRT Jakarta has reached 92,5% and hopes to operate on March 2019.

“MRT is not only transportation but also a media to build a new habit and culture. The culture of Queuing, on time, keep clean because that’s all how we should manage MRT,” said Anies Baswedan.

Construcction Director of PT MRT Jakarta Silvia Halim conveys the MRT train have a blue colour on the head and metallic gray on the body. At the interior, they adopt the exterior colour which are light blue and white as the dominant colours. Beside that, the train is having Air Conditioner, CCTV, Hand Strap, Priority Seat and Disability Area.

“One carriage will have two CCTVs at the edge. So, one MRT will have twelve CCTV on each carriage,” she explained.

MRT Jakarta plans to be operated soon on March 2019 and no passengers trial test will be on December 2018.
